What to Expect

Sports Massage

Sports therapy is not only for those who are involved in sport. Tight muscles, tension and restriction in the muscle fibres can be caused by sitting at a desk all day, gardening, postural problems or trauma such as whiplash, torn tendons or ligaments resulting in pain and muscle tightness.

Massage is effective at:

  • Easing muscular stress, tension and pain
  • Improving flexibility for efficient movement
  • Preventing injury by maintaining muscles in optimal condition
  • Promoting healing and recovery
  • Improving muscle tone
  • Reduces muscular scar tissue

It is also good for stress management by countering the detrimental physiological effects of stress releasing endorphins (feel good chemicals) that help us relax and therefore help to reduce anxiety levels.

Appointments are available in the mornings, evenings and weekends. Please call the clinic on 01276 423 434 to book your appointment.

With all first consultations I carry out a neurovascular assessment to check for any underlying health problems and to check the patients nerve sensation, I then take all medical history and a note of their current medication.

I then carry out foot care, usually starting with the nails and working my way down the foot cutting and filing nails, reducing thickened nails, reducing hard skin, enucleating corns, treatment advice and care for verruca's and ingrown toenails. And finally an application of cream is applied if required or desired.

What to Expect

Firstly you will have a consultation with our Practitioner to discuss your medical history, any concerns you currently have and what you would like to get from the reflexology treatment.
The reflexology treatment is a pressure point massage to the feet using a cream with relaxation movements, you will be relaxing in a comfortable reclining couch. During the treatment you may feel some areas are tender or feel crunchy and this with relate to the corresponding part of the body as seen in the foot reflexology chart. This can indicate an area in the body that maybe out of balance that needs working on.

Reflexology is a great stress reducing and relaxing treatment that helps to bring the body back into homeostasis (balance) naturally. It can help with a huge number of health conditions from sinuses conditions to digestive issues and many more.

If you have a specific issue you would like to work on it is recommended to have 4-6 treatments every 1-2 weeks then monthly for maintenance or just a monthly treatment for your self-care.
