Following an early career in nursing and having graduated in Counselling from Greenwich University, Martina pursued her long held ambition to become a counsellor driven by her passion for people and the belief we are all unique. She believes that establishing the right counselling relationship is paramount in enabling you to explore your feelings and emotions, identify choices and take steps towards positive change.
Martina works with individuals of all ages including young people aged 11 and above. Issues she works with include: Anger, anxiety, behavioural problems, chronic illness, depression, low self esteem, grief, bereavement, relationships, stress, self harm, identity, loneliness, low self-confidence and major life events such as redundancy.
Martina has extensive experience working with young people in the charity sector and has also worked for many years at the Fountain Centre in the Royal Surrey County Hospital, helping both patients and their relatives with the emotional impact of living with cancer as well as bereavement counselling.
As an Integrative counsellor, Martina draws on a range of approaches such as person centred, psychodynamic and existential, which she can tailor to you as a unique individual. She offers warmth and genuine acceptance in a safe space where you can feel heard and understood in a non-judgemental way. You will have the chance to express yourself in your own way and at your own pace in total confidence.
